BP1_Welcome to my blog post

Pictured below are my cats (clockwise from the left) Miriam, Moshe, Naomi, and Yentl. The oldest of the crew is Yentl and the youngest is Naomi. Miriam and Moishe are siblings. They are all rescues. They seem to like living with us. My husband and I are very pleased with them. They have lots of toys to play with and enjoy climbing on this huge apparatus known as “Kitty City.” It has may perches and nooks to sleep in.

I am a Navy Veteran, who spent 10 years as an enlisted. My highest grade in the Navy was E-4. Believe it or not my job title was Hull Maintenance Technician. My team was responsible for watertight integrity of the ship to include plumbing, firefighting, and welding. I lived on a repair ship. This provided many opportunities to travel along with fixing other ships while in port and at sea.

Upon separation, I began college at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. I graduated with a B.S. in Occupational and Technical Studies – the focus of my degree was in Training. My husband of 14 years is also Navy, however he did a 21-year career. We married in Virginia. Then we moved to Pennsylvania where we both obtained good employment. I got a job at a local tech school, but somehow it just was not enough. I went back to school and earned an MS in Education with a focus on Instructional Design for Online Learning. After several gigs teaching online, I f felt like something was missing in my repertoire. Media – that is what it was. I did not have the background in the design of education al media. Luckily, I found Full Sail University, and Full Sail has what I need. I believe upon completion of the is program, including my current course in Emergent Technologies in a Collaborative Culture, I will put all of my education in to a powerful portfolio to bring to the table of potential employers.

I welcome you to participate in my blog to discuss my family and the work I am doing at Full Sail University. Media design is one of my many passions I have found in the short time that I have been enrolled in the program; I have grown in the use of technology integrated in design.
