Ever have the need to hone your typing skills? People in computer literacy classes do. These are the types of classes I teach. This Web 2.0 tool called typingweb has the resources available for taking a novice or advanced typist to their next level. The best part is that, it is a free tool to the public.
This tool provides two ways to access its components. First, it requires no registration. This enables the student to access limited features such as not being able to keep track of their progress. The second enables the student to keep track of their progress by way of a login. This allows the student to identify what areas need improvement or not.
There are as shown in the graphic above are five tabs: Home, Teacher Portal, Certifications, Typing Tutor, and Blog. The Home tab enables access to registration of the product, the typing lessons, games, etc. A teacher tab permits an instructor to monitor a student’s progress by being linked to accounts that the student creates. This allows the teacher to be able to monitor what the student is typing. Once the student completes the typing standards test they receive a certificate that is sponsored by the Typing Institute of America, which provides proof that they are proficient at typing. The Typing Tutor tab provides information on how to get started. It also displays what type of courses that are available for each skill level, which includes games for pleasure in learning. Their Blog tab permits access to even more information about games and provides the ability to communicate with other typists.
Found at http://www.typingweb.com/, typingweb is a comprehensive typing website for any typist at any level. To register for the site is easy. You can start at any level you choose. To get to the advanced levels you need to take a typing quiz to demonstrate that you are ready to move to the next level. Typingweb is an easy way to build those much-needed typing skills. Try it today. You will not be sorry you did.
