BP4-goanimate

The Web 2.0 tool I am going to talk about is GoAnimate at goanimate.com. This tool enables you to make animated videos. You can use your Google or Facebook account to login. If you do not have either you can create an account in the sign up now area.

After you log in, you get a daily lucky draw with a choice to do it the next day. Before you get into the program there appear to be a lot of popups to go through. The creators provide a tutorial to learn how to use the program at http://goanimate.com/studio/tutorial. The free Web 2.0 tool has some features that are not accessible that are found in the goplus account. These include the ability to make full-length movies, access text-to-video features, additional text-to-voice credits, and the ability to upload images and videos.

The free account allows you to record your own voice, upload music, mix facial expressions with actions, move characters behind props for characters to hold, and drag props for characters to hold. Some actions such as props do cost money. You are given 265 gobucks to start out with. There is the option to purchase more gobucks in order to do certain things like buy props for example. Claiming rewards is one way to get free gobucks.

Like any other movie, you have the option to save it as public or private. Do not worry if you want to delete a movie that you have saved. All you have to do is locate your name on the menu bar and choose your animations. A dialog box appears and at that point choose the delete option.

I made a small video to show you how easy it was to create. You copy the URL provided when saving in order to paste in your blog. The link launches a new window for the video to be viewed. I hope you enjoy it. It even contains a voice over with my voice.

  1. Cute video! I love that Kim is jumping the whole time. I believe I heard her voice change to yours, too. I will definitely be creating a video and showing my kids the site also.
