A lot of what I learned about iMovie was fumbling around the software. With the tutorial from Lynda.com I believe I have a better understand as to how to accomplish what I want within the software.
Before the video, I did not realize that I had control of how to import my files into iMovie. First you make an event to hold your movies. Second, you click file followed by import from camera, choose manual, and check off the movies you wish to import. Finally click Import Check and choose the destination of your files. Since I already created an event called PE3_iMovie I chose it to go in that event. Next I chose Import. Then iMovie tells you that the import is complete and you would then close the dialog box.
